Day 713 Summer Nights

Saturday night beach club party with music, friends and a spectacular sunset. Tim and I managed to get a few household chores done before heading to our Green Hill house to clean, sort and paint. Trying to get the place clean and ready by mid August will keep us busy all summer! I worked inside while Tim mowed the lawn then he hit the basement and I cleaned out a closet that hasn't been opened in ten years! It's amazing how quickly things accumulate and how long it takes to weed them out...similar to how fast we gain weight and how slowly it comes off!! Both Tim and I have a tendency (major understatement) of holding on to things too long. We keep too many clothes, items that should be tossed and should both get rid of 75% of the clutter in our lives. Taking two households and merging them into one certainly doesn't help  and only added to our combined mess, wedded bliss.  I set a timer with a strict stop time for our chores and was delighted when it rang, ending the hot day of work and rolling into a fun night. We got ourselves ready and headed to the beach club for a night filled with live music, food, friends and were treated to a spectacular pink sunset the likes of which we haven't seen since last summer. I had Tim snap this photo of me with four of my girlfriends, all sporting pretty white pants...did I miss the memo? Not surprisingly I went with a different vibe. I had bought this fabulous sundress a few weeks back and have been saving it for this party. The hippie dress matched the vibe of the band perfectly, not by accident. I was pleased with my purchase, loving the bright colors and fun print as well as the comfort and of course, pockets, not bad for $15 with $7.50 shipping it was a steal. Amazon makes ordering too easy not that I'm complaining! My friend Heather showed up with the best bag ever, a wine purse with a little flap, that hides a dispenser. The bag of wine sits in a pocket inside the purse and is insulated... brilliant. Heather laughed and tried to guess how quickly I'd be online shopping for one... knowing it would be within 24 hours. I might have a better chance of being a minimalist if I wasn't surrounded by cool stuff. Just wait until the next party, I be ready with my new bag...so much for having less stuff. I wish there was as much time as there is stuff....the weekend is gone in a flash, no wonder I try and squeeze the most out of every minute. I love my summer nights, now...on to a beach day!
