Day 723 Tuesday Nights

What a spectacular night a the beach! My friends and I had organized another dinner gathering, this time with an Italian theme, meatballs, pasta, garlic bread, salad and red wine, while Italian music played int he background. At first glance, not the typical beachside dinner menu, but worked out perfectly and was scrumptious. Adding a crazy twist, we ended up being the only people at the beach club for our entire meal!! We sat and dined on the deck, having the entire club to ourselves on a spectacular summer night, what are the odds of that?? Looks like people stay home on Tuesdays, note to self. Donna's husband Dave just celebrated a birthday over the weekend, so our meal ended with a bit of birthday cake (made by yours truly) and a few prizes for him. If you look for a minute, you'll always find something or someone to celebrate! My beach crew is a fun bunch, always up for whatever crazy idea I come up with and always ready for a good time. We all marveled at what a perfect night we were handed, appreciating every ray of sunshine, warm breeze and the friendship that surrounded us. Before leaving to head home, Tim and I walked down to the beach, I needed a touch of sand on my toes and wanted to see the beautiful seashore in the dark. He and I stood for a bit, feeling as if we were the only two people on the planet as we breathed in the ocean air. Our friends had all gone home, so the world was ours alone, or at least the beach was! I can completely understand the concept of becoming a beach bum...or maybe I already am? As a kid I remember going to the beach on the daily during the summer, building sandcastles, swimming and feeling free as a bird (or seagull). Out of my three kids, two love the beach,  one not so much, I suppose you either are born loving the ocean air or not. One thing for sure, I can't imagine living anywhere on the earth away from the ocean. My soul craves the sounds of crashing waves, the touch of an ocean breeze, sights of endless blue skies and water as far as the eye can see. A group of fabulous friends isn't bad either and all of it perfection on a Tuesday night!
