Day 179 Basic Wonderful

 

Not an exciting outfit but I love a classic old lady style. This H&M,  basic navy dress is really just a backdrop for a nice jacket and pearls, allowing the accessories pop as they should. One of the hardest things to find is a great pair of navy blue pumps, not sure what I'll do once these beautiful shoes wear out. This outfit was a far cry from my morning garb, sporting jeans, hiking boots and all kinds of winter outerwear was needed for a hike in the woods. It was a new adventure hiking,  Coney Brook Trail in West Greenwich, a 2.4 mile hike amongst spectacular scenic water views and varying terrain. It's always so invigorating to be outside in the cold weather and amazing how many fantastic hiking spots we have here in RI. There's several other trails in the same area and a few I'll definitely check out this spring. Tim and I hunkered down all evening, prepping for the cold snap that's about to hit. Maybe not so much prepping as talking about how cold it's going to be and how quickly we'll need to bring in our eggs. Since we haven't had any snow to speak of this year, staying inside due to cold might be nice. There's something cozy about a super cold day when you're inside warm and snug with something delicious on the stove. Just like a basic dress, a day at home can be the backdrop for wonderful things.
