Day 660 Work/Reward Ratio

My star stencil arrived for my next project, can't wait to begin. As promised here's a photo of the dance floor I created. It all started when Tim and I were laying out the plan for our backyard wedding. The old concrete slab in the center of the yard that once was an active basketball court was an eyesore to navigate around. Realizing you can't hide an eyesore I figured we might as well make it the center attraction, turning it into our dance floor and placing the stage for the band right behind it. First things first, power washing, years of dirt from ball play and dirt needed to be removed. Once I had a clean surface it was time to paint, five gallons of brown paint that the concrete soaked right in. I thought it might take forever to get the brown even and looking floorish but it all came together. After the paint dried I arrived with two long boards, one thick one thin to use as my floor board stencils. I laid each board down carefully and traced the board with a thick black sharpie pen, repeating the process over and over until the entire slab was perfect. I then stenciled a large A in the center and stood back with pride at my masterpiece. I had a hard time walking for the next week or two, the project had me doing hundreds of squats but even that was worth it. Now onto the next project, stencil arrived, only costing me $15. Paint is on the way for $21. If my project comes out as my mind envisions it will, I'll have the most amazing space for under $40... and it will be a million times easier than having a rug. Each project creates a snow ball effect of future projects so it looks like it's going to be a busy season. I'm going to do my best to get my outdoor space perfect before the summer so we have time to enjoy the space, time to get cracking! My son tells me my work reward ratio is way off but I disagree, I think it's amazing what we can do with a little bit of imagination, determination, time and sweat energy. Sure seems like the skies the limit....I'll start with the floor.
