Day 671 The Bistro

I was up early and since I hate to have unfinished tasks waiting for me I was outside by 6am to get my stenciling job done. I finished the last star at 10am, proud as punch of my new decor. Once we put the outdoor furniture back in place Tim said it looked like a bistro, yay! The outdoor table and chairs, along with the solar lighting in the tree give such a cool vibe, exactly as I wanted it. I have my chicken run right along the side of our now quaint outdoor area, giving off a smell that is less than ideal for dining. Cleaning the coop became my next project, digging out, spreading coop fresh, leveling and giving my girls a fresh layer of dirt. It doesn't sound like a lot of work, but it was gross and stinky work at that. Tim and I showered and changed for a cocktail on the deck before heading out to dinner. I had a couple gift cards burning a hole in my pocket so we went to Celeste. We weren't sure if we would be able to get in with all the summer folks here, but fortunately we scored two perfect seats at the outside bar. Before we knew it, friends arrived and snagged the two seats next to us that happen to become available right as they walked in. Celeste isn't my favorite restaurant, not sure why, just not my vibe, noisy, overpriced, touristy and the food is just ok, but the outside area was better than I expected. I ordered a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon and the bartender suggested one for me, the $18 glass of wine was good but holy cow, a bit much for a glass of wine! I'm not a fussy wine drinker, give me a $22 box of red that holds about three bottles and I'm content for weeks. After a delightful, albeit pricey, mediocre dinner out Tim and I came home to sit at our own private bistro, where the vibe and company are always perfect, prices aren't bad either. We delighted in seeing our new solar lighting brighten up our bistro area and sat enjoying the night air, discussing having the yard sprayed for mosquitos...can't have those little buggers ruin our vibe. It's funny how some nicknames instantly stick, our outside area will from now on only be referred as "the Bistro" and we love it. All that from a few hours of stenciling, looks like my reward will far outweigh the work involved. There's a little poem I often say as I set my sights on a new project, "If a task is once begun, never leave it 'til it's done. Be the labor great or small, do it well or not at all".  Although the author of the poem is unknown, many versions of it pop up with authors stacking claim. I'll only claim to love the saying, it's a great motto, especially when you see the debris created by projects waiting to be cleaned up (slight dig at Tim and his lighting mess). Tim's new fancy lights lite up our deck in shades of purple and blue and have hundreds of color and brightness options, apparently clear lights are old school. Tim's wondering who we'll invite over to impress with our new fanciness.... not sure I've ever tried to impress anyone, but guessing there's one or two that might have to agree that my stenciling is outstanding!
