Day 807 The hunt

Not sure why I woke up one day last week with a need to change out my family room couch, but happy the impulse worked out. Tm laughs at how often I swap out furniture, never knowing what he'll come home to and never wanting to get attached to any one piece. I had a sectional sofa in the tv area, it fit well and was fine but who wants fine? I began my search, new, used until I found this sage green couch on facebook marketplace. I quickly borrowed my son in laws truck and arranged to pick it up. I was solo for the furniture move, thankful the former owner helped me load it into the truck. When I arrived home with the sofa, Tim was there to help unload, filled with questions but following working orders just the same. Once I had the pretty green couch inside, I stripped the cushion covers off and threw them right into the washing machine. I used my little green cleaning machine to wash the rest of the sofa, although it didn't appear dirty, a once over couldn't hurt. The couch cushions back on...and I love it...at least for a few years. The couch is exactly what I had been searching for, new or used and to my amazement it was free, my favorite price point.. The only cost, my efforts to pick it up, but a little manual labor is good for the soul. Maybe it was the giant new tv that inspired me to change up the seating area, or my old friends, whatever it was, I'm happy with the results. My old couch was super low, great for kids but older adults had trouble getting up from it....I guess I'm at the age I worry about my bad knee friends being able to get up from my furniture! This new couch is old people and bad knee friendly and with removable, washable seat covers, also kid friendly. I'll keep my eye on that marketplace, never sure what item I'll need or what I can swap out. I do love the hunt and the spoils of my efforts.
