Day 815 Late Night marauders
Since I missed this years Halloween party, I dipped back 14 years into photos of Halloweens past for a fun memory. One thing about Timothy, he's always game for costumes and happens to make an amazing pirate. He often wants to outshine me when we get dressed up for any event, but on Halloween he's not willing to take second fiddle. I've never met a person who loves the spooky holiday more than him, except for maybe his daughter! Funny thing is, before meeting Tim, I never really liked the holiday and even today it wouldn't make my top five. I don't like not knowing who I'm talking to, hate masks and strangers coming to my door. I'm more of a Christmas gal, pretty lights, sparkly decor, friends, food and of course, presents. Knowing how much Tim loves Halloween, I've upped my October game and tried my best to embrace the spooky fun. Although, hold the haunted houses, hayrides or other horrifying encounters please. I don't understand why anyone would willingly try to scare the bejesus out of themselves? I do enjoy seeing the little kids in their costumes, all excited to get free candy but I usually only see one of these trick or treaters, if i'm lucky. I keep a big bowl of candy at my front door, just waiting, waiting and continue waiting until there's no chance I'm going to get any knocks on my door.... just about that time I usually get a fairly large group of adult size folks, with masks on, ringing my bell and looking for a hand out, kind of freaky if you ask me. Maybe this year I'll just put the candy dish outside for these late night marauders and stay away from the front door. I'm thankful the weather will be nice for this years ghouls and goblins, nothing worse than having to wear a winter coat over your costume, ruining your vibe. This year was a bust for me...better luck next year.
