Day 817 Buffalo Tom
One of Tim’s all time favorite bands just happened to be hosting a three day music festival with opening night smack dab on his Birthday! OK, so it’s in Boston but who can say no to that…certainly not Tim. He’s been following this band, Buffalo Tom since the early 90’s when apparently, they were a big deal and seemed to be on the brink of huge success, but never reached commercial fame. They remained one of Tims favorites so when they tour, we see them. If you were reading my blog a couple years ago you might remember when we went to NYC to see them then bumped into the lead singer the next morning at breakfast…if not, it was pretty cool. It’s not really my taste in music, but much to my chagrin, not everything is. Tim was in his glory, right up front, room to dance and hundreds of people behind him all jumping, singing and head banging to each song right along with him. I don’t know any of the songs, couldn’t make out what they were singing if I tried, since they yell the lyrics, not singing in my opinion but I was the minority in this super fan filled venue. The band put together his weekend, filled with comedy, arts, literature and of course music… so I’m in for it all as if I’m a groupie. Tim found us a super cute Inn, only a mile away from the venue, walking is so much easier than driving and struggling to find parking. The walk back to our Inn after the show also gave us a chance to detox from all the noise, take in the city vibe and stop for a slice before calling it a night. We’ll have the entire day to do whatever we want tomorrow before heading back to our festival for another night filled with loud music. Seeing Tim so happy makes it all worth it…… but oh, how I hope Michael Buble puts on a show on my Birthday.
