Day 853 Talent
Christmas came a little early in RI, at least for me. Tim bought me (or I should say us) a fantastic karaoke machine and had it all set up before noon. Of course, he and I were then good for nothing, singing away, song after song together and to each other. It took all I had to stop, get dressed and get on with my day! Our set up has four wireless microphones, oh, the fun we will have! Fortunately, our house is set up so that the first floor will be blissfully unaware of the noise in the basement for those that don't enjoy amateur talent.....not that I can imagine not enjoying such fun. The machine will have to stay off during our party, at least until later in the night since not everyone loves the vibe, but I'll be sure to plan a karaoke party soon enough. In the meantime, Tim and I will practice up, singing to each other and working on our best songs. Tim doesn't like my song choices and I can't say I'm a fan of his, it may take a while for us to find a song we agree on. We really needed our beach club friends here, Ray is always game to sing with me and he and I do a fabulous rendition of Frank Sinatra together. Until then, I'm all David Cassidy and Tony Orlando.... I'll try to branch out a bit more. Once I forced myself to put my microphone down, I continued on with my decorating, cleaning and even set up a Christmas tree outside on my deck. The deck tree was my brilliant idea to camouflage the ugly trucks that are suddenly being parked on the other side of my river. I look out my kitchen window, towards my river and all I can see are the trucks along the bank on the other side, ugh. This week I thrifted for a fake tree to put up and decorate so now I look out the window and see a beautiful festive tree...perfection. I decorated it with solar lights that do their own thing without me having to think about them, easy and pretty. Tim and I even went out for dinner, after dark, trying a new restaurant close to home, enjoyed a pizza and drink and were back in our PJ's before 7pm like a couple of crazy kids. This time of year, home is the best place to be and now with endless entertainment options, why on earth would we want to leave?
