Day 881 Adventures await
A few Valentine's Day decorations are a small consolation for the void left in the house from all the Christmas cheer. I worked all day, packing up all signs of St. Nick as bin after bin went out to the shed, not to be seen again until next year. Once I had scoured through each room for any remaining nutcrackers or Santas, I vacuumed, dusted and was ready to focus forward towards the next big holiday. I have only one small bin for Valentine's Day and admit I blend all the red Poinsettias into the mix. I also confess, without apology, I can't seem to take down all the wonderful Christmas cards. The holiday greetings from friends and family will probably stay put until March. Looking at my dismal bin for Valentine's Day, oh boy, do I miss having the Christmas Tree Shop for seasonal decor! I really want (zero need) a few new fun decorations for February, may have to explore a few new shops. Tim read yesterdays blog as he stirred his coffee and ironically, right after telling me it would be a while before he could help me with anything. As he read, he stopped stirring and burst out with confessions of being misunderstood. Not sure if it was to change the image of Blog Tim or to diminish the accuracy of my predictions, but he was more helpful than usual. He brought in pellets for the stove, cleaned up some trash and even accompanied me to the transfer station. He carried bins filled with holiday decor to the shed and was on the ready to help throughout the day. I might even go so far as to say he scurried at times and although eager to hear praise for his efforts, his lending hand was appreciated. It was a great day to be inside, the cold wind was brutal and temps were the coldest they've been all year (yup...all four days of it). Every time we had to venture outside the cold air and wind made us more grateful for our warm house. The chickens don't seem to care, still cranking out eggs and going about their business as usual. With no plans for the entire weekend, Tim and I were content at home, staying warm, taking life slow and catching our breath after all the December happenings. Christmas came and went in a flash, decor up and down as if it never happened, thank goodness for memories! Time to make the most of 2025 and all the adventures that await.
“Scurried” LOL..db
