Day 889 River Views

My river is once again a vision of beauty and nature, no sign of an orange box trucks in sight. Shortly after the Christmas holiday the trucks began to disappear until they were all gone, and there hasn't been a sign of them since. No idea what was happening on the other side of the riverbank, but I'm pleased as punch that it has stopped. I would have never imagined how much the sight of big orange trucks would trouble me until I was faced with seeing them on the daily. Now I can once again gaze out onto my river, watching geese and ducks go about their business of looking for food and turtles sunbathing every chance they get...much better! I watched a goose wander around my backyard, exploring the yard and foraging for food, and wondered where the rest of the flock was. I walked down to the river bank investigate, just as the goose waddled into the river and started to swim away. Once deep into the yard I saw the entire gander of geese in my neighbors yard, at least two dozen of them! These beautiful feathered friends were enjoying the afternoon sunshine as they dominated several backyards, uninhibited by property divides. I walked back up to the house fairly quickly, not wanting to disturb their peacefulness and certainly not interested in a confrontation with a flock of geese. Even Peps ventured outside for a bit of vitamin D, seemingly feeling better but still moving too slow to wrangle with a goose. I'll be keeping her inside at night for now, but during the day she enjoys her outside time too much to hold her captive. Orange trucks gone, Peps feeling better, sunshine and a clean house, it has been a great weekend. There was also a bit of Sunday afternoon gaming, Mahjong with friends to end the weekend on a fun note. Isn't it nice when all is right with the world...at least for a moment?
