Day 911 Redemption Day

 

Whatever troubles plagued us on day one were all forgotten with warm sunshine great music and fabulous entertainment on day two. We spent the day poolside, listening to a Jamaican Reggae band and watching silly cruise contests. The sunshine felt so nice as we toasted our pale bodies. There was a bit of communication trouble with Donna not receiving any of mine or Carole’s texts, going forward we’ll be chatting through Dave’s phone. Before we found Dave and Donna four of us did a bit of ship exploring, discovering a couple new spots we’ll be revisiting this week. We sat outside at a table in an isolated little alcove, watching the sunset and taking in the last bits of sunshine before heading inside for another band. The Beatles show was packed, as a lookalike band sand songs from the Beatles early years. The room sang along and danced as if seeing the real rockstars. We rolled out of the bar full of energy and headed to dinner where we finally connected with Dave and Donna. Dinner was at a Japanese steak house  so more entertainment was in store for us. The chef put on a show, dazzling us with juggling, eggs spinning and flipping utensils as he cooked our food. Our six was seated with another four to make up our table for ten, Tim taking the end next to the unknowns. The man next to Tim, providing sideline entertainment as he tried to get a second meal. Once he saw Tim’s Scallops he was determined to have them, demanding them from multiple waitstaff and being shut down again and again. Tim, not a man who likes conflict, gave the stranger one of his scallops to end the drama, although I had been enjoying it! 

In an unexpected twist of fate, we then headed to the 10:000pm show to see Choir of Man… With Tim joining us without protest. The show was lively and fun as well as the perfect end to a wonderful day. Even Tim enjoyed the show, although refused to go on stage and join in the fanfare, but that didn’t stop me from going. We called it a night after the show, needing our sleep for the adventures that await us in the Dominican. Day two was quite a redemption day for our ship, thank goodness!
