Day 1007 Clouds of Happiness

Egg production was in full force while I was away—baskets were filled to the brim, and all the chickens are alive and well. Tim had a coyote scare the first night I was gone, but after that, there were no issues at all.

My girls were excited to see me, happy to have me home, and absolutely thrilled for all the treats—fresh grass, clumps of weeds, and whatever else I could find to toss into their run. Of course, coming home also meant unpacking, but since I only packed one small bag, it was a breeze (airline pun intended).  With only one free personal item allowed, I still had more than enough space for a four-day trip. I even came back with a pair of pants and a shirt that never got worn.

I wore the same pajamas every night and the same sweatshirt each day, but had clean underwear, shirts, and socks for each day of the trip. One pair of jeans can easily last a few days—and sometimes, what you’re wearing just isn’t as important as who you’re with.

I’ve been walking on clouds of happiness since my visit—precious time spent with my boys. My daughter also stopped by to welcome me home, Mother’s Day gift in hand. Daughters are pretty darn great too! She gave me the most beautiful, brightly colored, beaded handbag, one I’ll definitely be showing off this spring and summer. She had enjoyed a relaxing Mother's Day herself—lounging, reading, and unwinding—the opposite of my action-packed day.

Life gets so busy with everyone pulled in different directions, but I’m going to do my best to find a long weekend when we can all be together again for a family gathering. Wish me luck!

Because in the end, it's not just about coming home—it's about who’s waiting there for you. And this time, I came home to full hearts, full baskets, and memories that will keep me smiling until the next adventure.
