Day 1028 Updates
Eaglet Update: Sunny Has Taken Flight!
Friends were calling and texting me all day, worried about Sunny out in the big, bad world—but I only see success ahead for her. The best guess is that she'll return for a few hunting lessons from her parents, but we'll have to wait and see. No doubt, we'll all be watching.
Gizmo isn’t quite ready yet and is now alone in the nest—though probably not for long. What an amazing experience it's been watching these two grow from tiny eggs to fledglings taking flight. Jackie and Shadow have had eggs hatch before, but this is their first real success as parents—and what a great job they've done!
On another note, my fitness tracking ring has turned out to be kind of awesome. The only downside is that it’s so lightweight and comfortable, I forget I’m wearing it—and often forget to charge it! For just $19.99, it’s comfortable, stylish, and surprisingly capable. I’m not sure what Apple could add to justify a much higher price, but for now, I’m perfectly happy with my budget-friendly version. It’s especially interesting to finally track my sleep patterns since I could never comfortably wear my Apple Watch to bed.
And the final update: it’s time to clean my bedroom. When my kids were younger, I never made a big deal about the state of their rooms—as long as they weren’t a fire hazard. I used to say, “Just make sure a fireman could find you in an emergency.” Well… looking around my room right now, I’m not sure a fireman could find me among the piles of clean laundry and scattered nonsense.
Looks like I’ve got my work cut out for me—but first, maybe just one more peek at the eagle cam.
Thanks for following along with these updates. Life’s little moments—whether eagle flights or laundry piles—always seem to bring something unexpected and wonderful.
