Day 1041 Yacht Rock

Tim got a call asking if he and I would like to spend the afternoon on a yacht cruising Newport Harbor... would anyone say no to that? The 90-foot vessel was absolutely spectacular—four bedrooms, six bathrooms (not including the crew’s quarters!). There were multiple living and dining areas, and enough space to easily get lost in. Obviously we had yacht rock radio playing... wouldn't have made sense to play anything else!

We cruised out of East Greenwich, making our way to Newport Harbor, with me standing at the bow of the boat as often as possible. I waved to other boats and groups of people on ferries, imagining they might think it was my boat! The yacht is actually for sale, in case anyone's interested... for a whopping $5.8 million! Can you imagine spending that much on a boat? I wonder what someone’s house must look like if this is just their boat.

It was such a treat to spend the afternoon on the water, surrounded by friends, with no shortage of food or drinks. Tim and I had spent the morning cleaning out his closet, which made the relaxing evening feel even more rewarding. With our bedroom newly rearranged, it felt like the right time to move on to closets—starting with Tim’s, since it’s far easier than tackling my own. We really need to get into a routine for decluttering. Honestly, we both have clothing we’ve held onto for over twenty years!

All in all, it was one of those days that felt like a mini-vacation—sun, water, laughter, and just enough glamour to feel a little unreal. Here's to more spontaneous adventures and a cleaner, more organized closet to come!
