Day 1055 Chasing the Sunshine

A sunny day at the beach was just what I needed. Of course, it’s never easy getting there—breaking free from the never-ending household chores and now, yard work too! I scurried around, getting done what I could, then packed my bags and headed for the beach.

Tim and I have different ideas about the best beach hours, so he stayed home and planned to join me later. I met up with my brother and sister-in-law, who had already claimed our favorite spot in the sand. Somehow, it’s always in high demand, but we’re determined to make it our summer spot.

They had just gotten back from Disney, so I sat listening to their stories with full-on Disney envy. I only left the sand  to join friends on the deck for dinner. Everyone brought a dish to share, and together we ended up with a feast that would be tough to rival.

The club was nearly empty—not sure why on such a beautiful evening—but we were happy to have it all to ourselves. My chickens will be thrilled with the leftovers from our dinner!

My son's flight was due in late that night, and thankfully, my other son offered to pick him up. My aging eyes don’t love night driving, and I’m using that excuse every chance I get. Long days at the beach make for the best sleep, and a late-night airport run would’ve been a struggle.

I’m so excited for the week ahead—filled with family time, more beach days, cookouts, and simply following wherever the ocean breeze takes us. These are the moments that fill my heart and reset my soul.
