Day 1061 Would you rather
No beach day for us—although the weather was perfect, a bit of catching up was in order. Laundry, dishes, and maybe even a quick nap (for Tim). The kids all scattered in different directions for the morning, giving me an opportunity to get a few things done around the house.
We were all still exhausted from the full day at the beach. The beach bags were still waiting to be unpacked. I had already put away anything that needed refrigeration, but the rest of the beach gear was left for the morning.
I wish I could reuse a beach towel without washing it—just leave it in the trunk for another day—but let’s face it: nothing beats a clean, fresh towel. I’ve been using my new lemon Lilly Pulitzer beach towel every time I head to the beach. With its scalloped edges, it’s definitely a spectacular towel and will be my go-to for all of summer 2025.
With no beach day in the forecast, I was thrilled when my daughter invited the crew over to her house for a cookout and a swim in her pool. We all ended up in her living room, chatting and playing a “Would You Rather” game, laughing as everyone answered ridiculous questions between two silly options.
I was so exhausted I ended up closing my eyes and just listening to everyone’s answers as I rested. Not sure how we ended up staying as late as we did, but by the time we got back home, we were all off to bed in a flash.
Everyone will be heading home soon, so it felt like a last hurrah for all of us together. It was one of those simple, perfect summer nights—no plans, just good company and lots of laughter. It wasn’t the beach day we expected, but it turned into the kind of evening that reminds me why summer is so special—slow moments, shared laughs, and time well spent with the people we love.
