Day 1068 B-Team

Oh, how I love these ladies! I joke that they’re my solid B-team friends—they can’t make it to A-level status until we’ve been friends for at least 20 years—but holy cow, they seem to be in it for the long haul. At this point, we’re pushing a solid fifteen years of friendship, and that milestone alone is worth celebrating.

I met them years ago when I taught all their daughters in dance. We connected instantly as dance moms and teacher, and somehow that connection stuck. I’m not sure how or why certain groups bond, but over the years, we’ve continued to gather for dinners, outings, and any chance we get to spend time together. This is a group of gals I can count on for anything—and they know they can always count on me.

We're all different ages (with me confidently leading the pack as the oldest!), and we don’t have a ton in common beyond how deeply we adore one another. But that, it turns out, is more than enough. We aim for monthly get-togethers—sometimes we manage more—and every time we do, we laugh, talk about everything under the sun, and fill each other’s cups in ways only trusted friends can.

Megan is definitely part of this circle but couldn’t make it last night—shoutout to her! You were missed.

Good friends feed the soul, and mine feasted on friendship and laughter as we sat by the ocean, listening to the waves and soaking in the salty summer air. We’ve walked through life’s toughest moments together and celebrated each other’s happiest. We share unfiltered conversations, silly inside jokes that make no sense to anyone else, and a level of trust that only time and love can build.

Each of these women has carved a permanent place in my heart, and I’m guessing we’re just about to hit that magical 20-year friendship mark. I think soon a promotion to A-team status is officially in order!

Here’s to the friends who become family, to the laughter that keeps us young, and to the years ahead—may they be filled with more stories, more dinners, and more waves crashing at our feet.
