Day 1112 Weekend vibes
Another fantastic night under the moonlight with music, dancing, friends, salty air, and sand. Tim and I left work early to get a jumpstart on the three-day weekend, packing up our jackets and essentials for the night out. We started at GHBC with their signature appetizer night. Although it was great to see my beach club besties, the overall vibe felt more like an evening at a senior center. Once the sun began to set, we made our exit and headed to GBC for live music and a much more energetic atmosphere. The band was fantastic and quickly drew in the younger crowd. Out on the sandy dance floor, we were clearly representing our age bracket! Kids were running around in their bathing suits, families passed babies around for everyone to hold, and no one even thought about leaving until after eleven... as it should be.
The weather had threatened rain, so the band played under a tent, but thankfully the skies remained clear all night. Dancing in the sand gave my legs quite a workout—it's definitely different from dancing on a smooth dance floor. To top it off, it was our favorite bartender’s birthday. She let everyone know by wearing a sparkly gold sash and taking center stage while the crowd sang to her. She even performed a song with the band, showcasing her hidden talents and dazzling us all.
I can't believe it's already the last weekend of August. Thankfully, events are planned throughout September, so we can hold on to summer a little longer. I’m definitely not ready for hibernation just yet!
Summer is a state of mind, and as long as the music plays and the sun still shines, I’ll be holding on to it.
Here's to making the most of these last days of summer...and making them last a bit longer!
