Day 1157 Christmas???

Sorry, pumpkin-loving leaf peepers, but I’ve already got my eye on Christmas. I just can’t resist picking up a new festive wreath or Christmas knickknack when I see one… bring on the holiday cheer!

Okay, I know I need to embrace fall décor a little longer—at least until I’ve had it up for two minutes. But let’s face it, there’s nothing quite as magical as Christmas lights, the colors, and all the joy that comes along with the season.

Last year, Tim and I hosted a holiday party, which gave me the perfect excuse to over-decorate and invite everyone in to enjoy the splendor. I’m not sure if we’ll throw another party this year—it’s a lot of work—but I have to admit, I absolutely love it!

Before any of that happens though, I should probably get a few pumpkins, some mums, and bake a pie or two… if I must. I’ll be heading to Florida soon—the Sunshine State, no matter the season—and it’ll feel like summer for a few days. I really should start packing… nothing like waiting until the last minute!

First things first: I ordered groceries for Tim, who will be holding down the fort while I’m gone. Don’t feel too bad for him though—he’s got his own Florida trip coming up for football. We enjoy traveling together immensely, but it’s equally important to have our own adventures too. It gives us plenty to talk about when we’re back home.

For now, I’ve got to run. I’ve been driving my grandson to school one day a week, and today’s the day—high school, no less! It’s a short window of time, but I treasure those few minutes I get to spend with him.

As the holidays draw closer, I’m soaking in these little moments, pumpkin spice and all, while secretly counting down the days until the Christmas lights twinkle. Fall may be beautiful, but Christmas? That’s pure magic.
