Day 2122 Perfection

Perfection… all wrapped up in a brand-new baby bundle. Seriously, how can newborns be so darn precious?

I arrived home to find Bridie and two of her boys already here, with Tim beating me home on baby time. Thankfully, I had put dinner in the crockpot so my attention could be on the kids, right where it should be! I had asked Tim to please turn the crockpot to low and put the potatoes in at 3:00. I even set the potatoes right next to it to avoid any confusion.

So imagine....when I called home at 4:30 and was asked what he was supposed to do. Ugh. Of course, he tried to make it my fault...I should have texted the instructions… seriously? Well, all’s well that ends well. He at least put the potatoes in the oven to bake, so although it wasn’t my plan, everything turned out delicious. It’s those darn two-step directions, I should never give them! Good thing Tim is so darn entertaining...he's a keeper even if he can't follow instructions.

I had tried a new recipe: boneless turkey breast in the crockpot. I’m happy to report it was amazing. I put it in the crock pot before work with a can of cranberry sauce, some orange juice, and onion soup mix, and came home thrilled with the results. This was a trial run for Christmas Eve. Since I’ll have a ham in the oven, so this will be the perfect way to cook the turkey. Lamb on Christmas Day, everyone will be happy!

But back to that baby… there’s something so special about a brand-new baby. Their perfect tiny fingers, squeaky little noises, and the sweetness of their gentle breathing as they’re rocked and snuggled. Timmy is taking his role as big brother quite seriously, showering him with kisses and casting a watchful eye when others hold him. Once there’s a baby in the room, there’s no need for any other entertainment, everyone’s focus on the baby, each little movement a thrill.  All eyes on that little bundle!

He is six pounds of pure perfection, and we’d better soak it all in. Because we all know, in the blink of an eye, he’ll be a teenager. So we'll soak him in, shower him with love and be grateful for every single minute with our babies!!
