Day 2133 Game Play
Game play with my crew...the best way to spend a winter week! Everyone loves the drawing-and-guessing game… of course, that’s because they can draw. Tim had the word Tiger Shark and worked like Michelangelo himself to create the perfect image. Naturally, my daughter guessed it immediately.
My drawings, on the other hand, are a bit more Picasso, and we all cross our fingers that I don’t have to draw an animal! It’s not a game we play to win or lose anyway (thank goodness), but it never fails to have us laughing with every sketch reveal.
There’s nothing like a week at home with no projects, minimal cleaning, plenty of delicious food, and lots of games, just enjoying each other’s company. Soon enough the house will be quiet again; I’m sure the cat can’t wait. While everyone else makes plans to go out on New Year’s Eve, we’re perfectly happy staying home together. Tim says New Year’s Eve is a rookie holiday anyway, so he doesn’t mind missing the ball-drop fanfare one bit.
I don’t usually make big New Year’s resolutions. Instead, I like to look back on the past year, thankful for all the fun we had, while feeling eager to see what the next year brings. Every year comes with a mix of good and bad, so here’s hoping 2026 is kind to us with limited bad. I'll hope for a year filled with family, friends, laughter, good food, and time together at home surrounded by the people I love. So far the universe has been pretty darn good to me. Maybe 2026 will even see my cat come out of the basement and enjoy the house and all the love that surrounds her!
