Day 2159 Photo Fix

Finally… photo uploading issue fixed!
All credit for the fix goes to Tim, who has the patience to read through diagnostics and whatnot and calmly work out the issue, while all I want to do is throw the bright orange phone outside into the snowstorm.
For reasons still unclear, after the update it became necessary for me to use the Blogger app instead of the website. I could write on the site, but in order to upload photos I had to download the app and pay $19.99 for the year. I went ahead and paid it since I write daily, and honestly, the ease of frustration alone was worth the cost. So, until the next update… problem fixed, and I’m backtracking with my photo to show off my storm prep kit.
The storm arrived right on schedule. Poor Tim had to work, so I waited anxiously for him to arrive home safely before I could fully enjoy the beauty of the snow. Once he was safely home, all was right with the world: the house was warm, cinnamon buns were in the oven, dinner was in the crockpot, and our cat was cozy, though still hiding in the basement.
The house became divided into two zones. Downstairs turned into the basement family room football zone, while upstairs became the kitchen, baking, music-loving territory. Three guesses which zone I picked?
I don’t watch football. I don’t even like being in the same room when it’s on TV. And as much as I dislike it, Tim loves it even more. He was glued to the television all day, thrilled when his team won, and periodically came upstairs to give me updates… as if I cared. He’s excited that his team is going to the Super Bowl, but please don’t ask me who they’ll be playing.
Thankfully, I’ll be visiting my son the weekend of the Super Bowl. He cares just as much as I do about the game and will happily ignore all the nonsense. Football fans are kind of like dog lovers, shocked when anyone doesn’t see the charm. I come from a family of doers, not watchers: mountain climbers, hikers, bakers… not sitters or spectators. I have brothers and a sister who couldn’t care less about watching sports, and two out of three of my kids feel the same way. My daughter is the only family member who actually enjoys watching....there’s always one black sheep.
The snow fell steadily throughout the day, everyone crossing their fingers that the power wouldn’t go out, because can you imagine all those football fans if that happened? I’m looking forward to one more storm day at home without Tim’s attention fixed on the television. We might even play a game, have a conversation, or take a walk in the snow… you know, real-life things.
I’m sure we’ll also be busy digging out. Our cars are buried in beautiful white powder, and everything is closed due to the storm. The world feels quiet, interrupted only by the occasional snowplow passing by. I didn’t need to dip into my storm kit, but I was happy to have it ready, and I always light a candle… just in case.
Some days are loud and chaotic. Others are hushed, snow-covered, and filled with small comforts. I’ll take this kind of storm any day....minus the football.
