Day 2166 Feathered Friends

Not sure who needs to read this, but this would be a good time to throw some food out for the birds! Our poor little feathered friends are struggling to find food with all the snow and ice covering the ground. As soon as I put food out, my feeder is full with a variety of birds, all enjoying a winter feast. Of course, once Mr. Blue Jay comes along, the rest had better scatter.
My son has put up a feeder, and when I asked if there was anything I could bring for my visit, he requested one of my Audubon bird books...easy! My video feeder identifies the birds for you and sends a notification telling you which bird is visiting. Of course, it’s currently still in my chicken coop, confusing the AI about what wild birds it could possibly be. Tim and I are just trying to figure out a place to set it up where the squirrels can’t get to it, an impossible task, we’re afraid.
I’ve started packing for my trip, and since I only bring one personal-item bag, no carry-on or checked luggage, it’s pretty easy. I’m only there for a couple of days, and I have no issue wearing the same jeans every day. As long as I can pack comfy PJs, slippers, socks, undies, and a few T-shirts, I’m good. I can easily wear the same sweater and jeans, and I’ll even find room in my bag for the bird book and my laptop.
It’s a quick flight to Virginia, amazingly fast, really. I’m in the airport longer than I’m in the air! My son wasn’t sure if Tim would be joining me or not, depending on whether Tim’s football team made it to the Super Bowl, so I gave him updates for both. I’d love to say I’m flying somewhere warm, but at least I’ll be cozy and entertained in a non-football house.
Before I go, I’ll make sure the chickens are well stocked, the henhouse is cleaned, and the wild birds are fed. Tim isn’t used to having chores first thing in the morning, but I’m sure he’ll manage...or my feathered friends will learn to enjoy brunch instead of an early morning breakfast. I also ordered groceries...I can't leave Tim at home without pie!! Hopefully before I go (and while I"m away) everything will be taken of...feathered friends, basement cat and of course...Tim.
