Day 2172 The Absurdist

What’s up next? That was about the only question of the day.

Once we started watching The Absurdist, we just couldn’t stop. We finally broke for lunch and headed into Williamsburg to hit up Hohl, a local hipster café where I was introduced to the best darn lamb sandwich I’ve ever had. Hohl was opened by an Australian entrepreneur, and holy co... he hit the nail on the head, cool vibe, delicious food and clearly the perfect location. If you're ever in the area, check it out!

After polishing off my delicious sandwich, I apparently still had room for an amazing slice of cheesecake stacked with fresh berries and topped with blueberry whipped cream… don’t mind if I do.

Back at the house, settled into the comfiest chair ever, it was right back to the travel videos, all over Southeast Asia, endlessly entertaining and fascinating. A few videos took us to Afghanistan, where he explored the country, asked more questions about the Taliban than he should have, and filmed far more than was wise. Although he reported on diversity, there was no doubt left in our minds that once the video surfaced, more than a few men would pay the price and wouldn't live to ever see it.  Somehow, there are still people in this world who don’t understand the realities of certain situations. You can’t break rules left and right in a place like that and not expect consequences — maybe not for you, but someone will.

With our stress levels officially maxed out, we quickly switched back to nature: orangutans in Borneo and witch doctors in the Philippines. Beautiful scenery and amazing wildlife footage.... trust me.. tough to turn away.

All in all, it was a super relaxing day: lounging around, eating incredible food, watching TV, and enjoying a few snowflakes drifting down outside… just a few. Sometimes the best days are the quiet ones....rare and appreciated.
