Seashells

She sells seashells by the seashore… not a bad idea! Here are a few of my beautiful decoupage seashells. It’s highly doubtful I’ll start selling them, but I really enjoyed teaching others how to make them, and creating a bunch for gifts. I may even make some for participants in my mahjong class… shh. I’ll definitely need another long beach walk or two to find more of these ocean treasures washed up on shore, another bonus of this craft.

I love seeing people’s reactions when they’ve never decoupaged before, many don’t even know what I’m talking about! They somehow think I’ve painted directly on the shell… not a chance. I’ve scheduled another class in May to teach this again, and at this rate, my Christmas list might even gain a few checkmarks.

I didn’t get home until after 8 p.m., covering for someone after what had already been a long day. I was too exhausted for dinner but happy to return to a fixed dishwasher, yay for Tim! No, he hadn’t gone off the rails and loaded it or anything, but at least it was in working order. So before collapsing into bed, I loaded it up with a stack of dishes that had been patiently waiting for me on the counter.

With days like this, I’d better keep teaching and making gifts, doubling up on my time. Tim and I both agreed we’re in great need of a moment or two without to-dos or fix-its around us. Good thing we’re married and have the rest of our lives together… we just might need every day of it.
