Before I get to the crazy cartoon, it’s worth noting the full moon yesterday that made for a day filled with chaos! My scientifically minded son swears the full moon has no impact on people’s behavior, but anyone who has ever interacted with the general public would probably disagree based on lived experience alone.
To sum up my day: I was putting out fires left and right, leaving me completely exhausted and ready to crawl under the covers and hide from it all. I knew it had to be a full moon, without ever checking the charts. Maybe I should start keeping an eye on them and plan my time off around the moon’s schedule!
Now onto my favorite kind of crazy: Tim’s cartoon rendition capturing our trip to Mexico. This was well over ten years ago and remains a truly original, one-of-a-kind work. I’ve requested another addition to the series, but apparently these things take time! I have it framed and hanging right next to my bed, it makes me smile every time I look at it. Although, I still wonder why he had to draw me looking like Amy Farrah Fowler…
I do love how his wonderfully creative mind works. So when he asked this week what I want for my upcoming birthday, of course, just as I have for years, I told him I want another comic strip. He usually claims he doesn’t have enough time, but I’d say in the past ten-plus years, he may have had a minute or two! I’m not sure it will happen this year, he’d probably prefer I ask for something he can just click to order, but he should know by now that I have much more creative ideas when it comes to gifts. Not for nothing, but I can click to order things myself… I just can’t draw a cool comic strip.
I suppose we all have our skill sets. Mine seems to be smoothing over one crisis after another… oh, how I wish drawing was in my skillset toolbox.
Who knows, maybe this will finally be the year I get that long-awaited sequel. Until then, I’ll keep smiling at the original and appreciating the kind of creativity you just can’t buy....running an 11 minute mile isn't my old mans only skill!!
