Mr. Rabbit

Apparently, not many people shop for plants at 7:00 in the morning, so it was just me and Mr. Rabbit enjoying the bright blossoms and the early morning sunshine.
At first, I honestly thought he was one of those fake decorative rabbits someone had tucked beside the display. But as I got closer, I realized he was very much alive, and very much enjoying his breakfast. He never stopped happily munching on the flowers, only pausing for a second to look up at me as if to say, "Go ahead...try and stop me."
I wasn't about to interrupt his meal, but I also decided not to buy the poor plant he'd been happily sampling. I figured it already had a very enthusiastic seal of approval.
Walmart had so many gorgeous outdoor plants on clearance that I couldn't resist filling my cart with colorful blooms. I don't exactly know where they'll all end up yet, but I'll find a spot! The bright reds, cheerful yellows, and vibrant pinks will look beautiful around the patio this summer. I've always loved planting mature flowers that provide instant color and instant gratification, just the way I like it.
Of course, I've seen more than my fair share of rabbits in my own yard, so I'm not sure I'll be quite as charmed by Mr. Rabbit and his family once they discover my freshly planted flowers. When Peps was alive, rabbits wouldn't dare step foot in our yard. She was a fearless little hunter who kept the neighborhood wildlife on high alert. Now, with only our timid basement cat standing guard from inside, the rabbits roam freely, nibbling on whatever they please and carrying on as though they own the place.
On a completely different note...my Ban de Soleil sun gel arrived, along with the spray and the matching hanging air freshener!
I was absolutely tickled pink as I ripped open the package and inhaled that unmistakable scent of the 1970s. Amazing how one fragrance can transport you back decades in an instant. Tim immediately tried to claim the air freshener as if it were some insignificant little bonus item. He insisted it was the only thing he wanted from the order, but his pleas were in vain. I refused to share!
Besides, he doesn't even remember that classic summer scent, so a generic air freshener will do just fine for him.
As for mine...I'm not entirely sure where I'll hang it. Then again, don't be surprised if you spot me wearing it around my neck like a necklace. Some memories are simply too good to leave hanging from a rearview mirror.
Ahhh...the sweet smell of summer, the perfect season to enjoy flowers, fragrances and early morning shopping with Mr. Rabbit.
