Day 48 Red Sox

Baseball, hot dogs and sunshine, now that's a day...a long day but a fun one.  A visit to Yankee Stadium to see the Red Sox vs Yankees with a large group of fans, from both teams was a day to remember. We are fortunate to only be a few hours from NYC so the trip is doable in a day. I wore a super cute and comfortable Max Studio dress made of cotton jersey, it felt like I was wearing a soft sweatshirt! I had my Red Sox hat on, even though Tim said people would heckle me for it. My experience was far from it. Everyone was so nice and happy to cheer for the sport of baseball with, not against each other. At one point I went to the concession stand by myself to get a very large order of drinks and hot dogs, realizing I could never carry all of it alone, four employees from behind the counter came right out and escorted me back to my seat carrying everything for me!! They waited while I passed out food to my group and joked with me about being a Boston fan. I handed out a few dogs to the folks behind us, since they were so nice as well. I find it funny that some people visit places expecting the worst when in reality, amazing, kind and thoughtful people surround us wherever we go. My dad would have loved the day, he was the biggest Sox fan ever but appreciated a great player from any team. He wouldn't have missed the opportunity to possibly see Aaron Judge make batting history, even if it was for the Yankees.  Fortunately for the Red Sox, that didn't happen and although they lost, they played a great game and kept the score close. After a long ride, Tim and I crashed into bed as soon as we got home, exhausted but thankful for having had such a wonderful day. The only thing that could have possibly made the day better would have been a win for the  Red Sox!
