Day 215 What's under that Shawl?

 Just when I start preaching about having nothing to hide I put on a dress that needs camouflage. If I had to describe how I looked in this dress it would have to be lumpy, virtually unwearable. I threw on this fabulous handmade shawl that not only gave the outfit pizzaz but also hid every lump and yuck. The dress will have to go in my give away pile but overall wasn't bad for the day, shawl to the rescue. I had to post a photo of the eggs I collected when I arrived home, holy cow! I had gathered one in the morning then arrived home to eleven more. I was thrilled to see my very first blue egg, yay!! Usually I get the browns and olive greens but hope to see more blues. I love the variety of sizes and colors and am thrilled my working girls are producing so well. I gave a friend eggs last week and she surprised me with mealworm treats for my flock, they love them!! Before you get too jealous thinking about all the money I save not buying eggs, there's really no savings. When you factor in all the feed, bedding and all the chicken needs it's not really economical. Thankfully, my girls give me so much more than eggs, they are endless entertainment and joy, pets typically aren't cost effective. I love having a variety of breeds not only for the variation in egg size and color but enjoy watching over a mixed flock. Baby chicks are now for sale for the spring....oh boy. Not that I need more, but equally not sure need has anything to do with it. Since Mr. fox took my Silvia and the Mink killed Carol and Big Yellow, adding a few more girls seems like a good idea.. Most husbands dread seeing their wives come home with an armful of shopping bags, Tim only gets nervous when I tell him I've got a surprise in the back of my car 😀.  Maybe I'll wear my fancy camouflage shawl to hide a few new baby chicks to surprise Tim...this shawl might be the best new purchase of the year!
