Day 305 Dinner Date

Out to dinner at Mariner Grille again, if I must. I had planned on cooking but when my son texted me to ask if Tim and I wanted to meet him and his girlfriend for dinner, of course it was a yes! My youngest son, he's been working third shift at the hospital so I need to grab visits with him whenever I can get them. I rushed home from work, changed out of my hiking clothes into this fun print wrap dress and was off. I did take time to package up a dozen eggs to bring, it's my go to give away prize these days. It was great to catch up with them, love seeing my boy so happy! We all decided a game night is in order so future plans are in the making. With the weekend ahead of course there's all kinds of plans ahead. I'm dying to get a beach day in, so cross your fingers the weather cooperates. Sadly the air quality has been horrible with the smoke from the wild fires in Canada. The thick smoke haze and strong the smell have made it impossible to have windows open. My eyes actually burned the other day from it and my throat was scratchy. We typically take our great air quality for granted, this might be a good reminder to appreciate it more. The clean crisp New England air is usually something I give thanks for every day. My older son served over seas in Afghanistan and every time he came home he would breathe in deeply and say how amazing America smells. I've tried to see America and smell it through his eyes, and it has always made me extra thankful for what I have.  Funny how we take for granted the most important things in our lives, clean air, clean water, a roof over our heads and god willing, good health. Maybe going forward we can all pause to appreciate these things a little more... sure is better than getting caught up griping about nonsense. Although, I know how overwhelming all the nonsense can be!
