Day 398 Cheers to 40 years!

If I could bottle up friendship it would contain these ladies. Our Fab Four group is one I never take for granted, rare to find friends that are so loyal, comfortable and easy. The four of us gals have been friends for almost twenty five years and have never had the slightest argument just unconditional friendship, support, laughs and kindness. We have seen each other through some of life's toughest moments as well as shared the most joyous. We gathered to celebrate Lauren and Jim's 40th wedding anniversary, yikes, imagine 40 years! They are still as happy as when they first were married, I think being kind to one another goes a long way. Laurens siblings and daughter threw the nicest surprise party and unbelievably carried through with the surprise! As they arrived  you could see the look of shock and confusion as they walked in and looked around the room. Of course Lauren began to cry and hug each person thanking them and still asking what on earth was happening. I was thrilled to be there and happy to finally have a few minutes with my friends. Girls get a bad wrap when it comes to friendships, thought of as caddy, mean and untrustworthy. All that may be true in some cases but to think that would overlook the real bonds of true friendship. These friends are kind, supportive, thoughtful and always complimentary. We lift each other up, as only friends can do and truly love each and every thing about our little gang. If your friends don't make you feel better, you've probably got the wrong friends.  If we had to pick something we didn't like it would be that we don't get enough time together, life seems to get in our way! Happy for an afternoon together, we ate like kings, being served an Italian buffet that had every delicious entree you can imagine, drank mimosas and watched Jim and Lauren dance to Lionel Richie's Endless Love, one of the biggest hits of the early '80's. I am absolutely underselling the amount of food as well as the love in the room, when I say we ate like kings, holy cow!! By the time Tim and I returned home we felt like we had been drugged by all that Italian food and laid down for a nap, never getting up again, done for the night. Stuffed to the brim with food and overjoyed for a day with my friends, maybe you can bottle happiness?
