Day 413 Van Morrison

Van Morrison concert was absolutely amazing! I bought tickets for Tim and I to see him back in May but the concert was rescheduled due to illness. This gave Tim ample time to read dozens of reviews about past performances and most reviews weren't good. Tim warned me Morrison wouldn't play his most popular hits, might walk off stage, won't engage with the audience, expectations were low. I'm pleased to report that non of that nonsense was true for this show. He was amazing, voice on point, fabulous band and overall an engaging performance. No, he didn't sing Brown Eyed Girl, but if that's all you were going for then that's just silly. He was generous with his band, highlighting them whenever possible and moving the spotlight onto each band member throughout the show. He gave each band member several solos and the audience was thrilled to see each person shine! Van Morrison is a whopping 78 years old so I can't imagine he's got too many years of performing left. Tim didn't mind being wrong after all his nay saying and conceded it was an amazing show. Our seats were fantastic, front row in the balcony, great seats always help the overall experience. I reminded Tim that only crankiest people that take the time to go online and write bad reviews, the average happy person has better things to do. Tim's been reading comments about his upcoming surgery and psyching himself out, worst case scenarios I'm sure. The internet can be a useful took but certainly shouldn't surpass real life knowledge or experiences. If we had listened to the internet we would have missed seeing this iconic singer and a show we will remember for a lifetime.
