Day 426 Sorrento

Woke up to the spectacular views of Naples. I was eager to explore and fairly well rested since I convinced Tim staying up past midnight every night might not be the best plan. He disagrees but gave me one early night. We set off to Sorrento but stopped at a Cameo making shop first. We watched the craftsmen creating beautiful pieces out of shells, really quite an amazing process. We continued on, driving along the narrow streets with impressive views but frightening cliffs! I’m thankful to still be alive after surging the drive, thankfully Sorrento was worth the trip! Such a beautiful seaside town with small shops and restaurants along the busy streets. We spent the morning taking in all we could of this beautiful town before heading off to Pompeii. Holy cow, impressive! I had no idea the enormous size of the city that has been uncovered. It’s amazing that you can still see the paintings on the walls and walk through the streets seeing what was once a bustling city. I loved that the rich folks in Pompeii would leave their front doors open to let the less fortunate see their wealth, I guess boasting is timeless. So far we have loved Italy, the food, shopping and beautiful scenery. I had shopped a bit in Sorrento, of course I couldn’t resist an Italian dress!!! Wi Fi has been tricky so I’ll have to share my stories more once I’m home. Ciao for now.
