Day 522 What's not to love?
Have you ever sat down at a restaurant and struggled to read the menu? Either the print is too small or the lighting is so dark that no matter how hard you try, you just can't see the darn thing. A few years ago when visiting my friend in Palm Beach, we sat down for dinner in a fancy restaurant and to my delight, when I opened the menu it lite up like an iPad! Seriously, why haven't I seen more of this??? If you notice, the lighting was more dark than dim, making everyone look fabulous in candlelit room. It wasn't too dark to see the high ranking politician sitting next to us, or the endless stream of designer clothing and handbags parading past, certainly not my average weeknight dining experience. Whenever I visit my friend we dine out like rockstars on the nightly, she loves to show me all her favorite restaurants and who the heck has time to cook when you live in a tropical paradise? I love living in RI but it sure is nice that my best friend happens to live in Florida! I have my own bedroom there, with my own bathroom and door to the pool area. My Florida bedroom is a million times tidier than mine at home but with my friend being a clean freak it's a must. I keep a closet filled with clothes at her house, so packing for a visit is minimal and flying without baggage much easier. I typically visit this time of year, but with Tims surgery coming up I'm housebound for a bit longer. Although, I see a Florida visit in my future once he's recovered from this next round. My friend and I talk every day, FaceTime whenever possible, she's usually sitting outside in a tank top with palm trees as a backdrop while I'm typically already in my pjs and bathrobe with the late afternoon darkness visible in the windows behind me. Can you tell I'm dreaming about a visit soon? The perfect weather, fancy restaurants, poolside living, and endless time to visit and chat with my friend in person! Imagine, all that and lite up menu's...what's not to love?
