Day 532 Nourishment
Sunday dinner at a friends house, delicious food, fun board games and an afternoon of laughter and great conversation. This weekend was packed with overindulgence, not that I'm complaining, just need to get back on track! I'll be hitting day 50 of running with one more run, have successfully continued running two miles each morning. I have never been a runner, still don't consider myself one, but each day I somehow get it done. Hopefully my cardio health notices the work I'm putting in and is improving with all my hard work. Sometimes it's the improvements we can't see that matter the most, we just need to trust they are happening. I will admit I'm a bit surprised I haven't had greater visible, changes, when I began I figured I needed to give it several months so the jury is still out. I'm drinking my protein shake and AG1 nutrition drink each morning, running, weights and stretching each day....better health should be on my horizon! Of course, with invites to dinners and parties I'll need to work on my self control, ugh. It's impossible to exercise your way out of a bad diet, I need to work on that part of the equation. The prime rib was cooked to perfection and packed with protein so no guilt there but the cheese covered potatoes, crackers and cheese may not have been the best choices. It's amazing how a couple days of indulgence can set you back weeks while it takes months to move forward with improvements...what's up with that? For a cold winter weekend, we sure did have fun, stayed out late and carried on, enjoying fun times with friends. That has to be good for the soul, and our souls need nourishment too, maybe I just fed a different kind of need. Health comes in many forms, this weekend was all about my mental health, nurturing friendships that carry me through life. During the weekdays I'll get back to working on the rest of me!
