Day 675 North of the Tower

What a wonderful day filled with celebration and friendship. As much as Dawn loves seeing me, she traveled to RI for her clubs 46th anniversary party...and what a party it was! Tim and I were up to our eyeballs in household chores but broke from our routine to join the festivities. I find it funny that folks are so supportive of women owned businesses, until its a strip club, then the judgements fly. I couldn't be prouder of my gal and her business savvy. Her late husband founded The Foxy Lady and invested his money wisely in a business that has withstood the tests of time. The Foxy was Jimmy's pride and joy and likewise became Dawns. Jimmy and Dawn were married for over twenty years before he passed away, leaving Dawn to navigate the business world, running several clubs. He would be so proud to see the continued success of his first club and the care she has taken to keep his dream alive. After several hours at the club's celebration we were off to dinner at Hemenway's  to meet friends for dinner.  It was an amazing night to sit outside and enjoy great food, drinks, conversation, surrounded by the city skyline. Tim and I rarely go into Providence for dinner, but if Dawn can travel from Florida the least we can do is travel north of the tower. She'll be heading home soon, her visits are always too short. I'm trying my best to talk her into renting a beach house and spending a week or two in the summer without the focus on business, so far unsuccessfully. Tim and I didn't get home until after midnight, late night for us, especially mid week. He was a good sport, going with the flow as we jumped from club to restaurant to late night drinks at Bellini. staying out later than expected and partying more than we should have, but big anniversaries call for big celebrations. Dawn will be heading back to Florida soon and our visits will be limited to daily phone calls. I'll get back to my projects and life south of the tower...until next time.
