The wait is over and parcel successfully delivered! Tim arrived home to find the pink print package and quickly brought it inside. He was concerned that anyone could plainly see it contained a Lilly item, making it a snatchable item for sure. He can spot a Lilly print with great speed after years of training and is quick to point one out in a crowd, impressive I know! My beautiful dress was rapidly removed from the plastic packaging and hung for me to admire. I've been looking at this dress online since April and it's every bit as pretty in real life as it is on my computer. My friend gave me a $100 Lilly gift card for my birthday, but being the thrifty cat that I am I couldn't bring myself to spend the additional $98 and opted to wait for a sale. Lilly only has sales a couple times a year but I waited and watched, anticipating my purchase. A couple weeks ago the three day sale began and my dress dropped from $198 to $99...yes please! With free shipping my gift card covered the entire purchase, leaving me with $1 remaining. Maybe I'm crazy, waiting four months for my dress to go on sale, or maybe I'm smart....well trained in delayed gratification. What we want is always attainable, when we put our eye on a prize, I think it's good training to set mini goals. Of course I had the money to buy my dress months ago, but where's the challenge in that? If I had been stressed waiting for my item to arrive, its understandable...I waited a long time for it! It was delivered while no one was home and left on my front step for the world to see, in it's bright pink print packaging. Thank goodness my husband was home early and smart enough to realize the importance of the contents and swiftly bring it inside. I'm not sure when I'll wear my beautiful dress but I do know for sure, no one will appreciate how much I value my new Lilly Pulitzer treasure. For now, it will hang where I can see it every day, making me smile that it's finally mine. My $1 gift card displayed will remain on my desk as a reminder of what can be accomplished with time.
