Day 704 Lobsters and Mobsters

Embracing what makes RI unique, don't you love this t-shirt? I have seen it online, almost bought it and now may have to! I ran into a friend who happened to be wearing this amazing shirt, highlighting RI in a nutshell... irony, I was eating a lobster roll as we chatted. I had made my way over to chat tree trimming, but became more interested in the shirt, can you blame me? What a great gift this would be for the t-shirt wearing guys in my life... shhh, may be a gift in the making. Back to the tree trimming, yikes, how fast they grow!! Maple trees grow like weeds and seem to grow ten feet in weeks. If you have one maple, prepare to have a hundred. Tim and I have trimmed tons of limbs, uprooted maple saplings left and right but still have a handful of trees to attempt to get under control. I've been waiting to see Kenny, the tree guy, so was happy to finally run into him, chat tree trimming and apparently, cool t-shirts. We may want to wait until the weather cools down a bit, not sure anyone should be working outside in 90 degree weather. I've been watching the forecast, dreaming of another beach day and thrilled I'll get one this weekend, great beach weather but not so great for yard work. I called to chat with Tim about trees but he quickly started questioning me about all the plans on our calendar, as I added a few to the list, dinners, live music, fun adventures, no time to waste, not sure I ever got to the topic of trees. Looks like the tree trimming might become a fall project, we may not have time for much more this summer. I will make time for more lobster, chowder, clam cakes, outdoor music and gatherings with friends, might even be a mobster in the mix. RI does have the most delicious lobsters and yes, our state is corrupt with mobsters....but, oh how I love my home sweet home.
