Day 714 Perfect 10

What a day! The beach was perfection from sunshine to smooth sand and seaweed free swimming. I was up early, to get a few things done around the house before heading out for the day. Tim woke up was I was leaving, eager to claim my spot on the sand. I arrived just after 10am to find my beach empty, except for a scattered few, just the way I like it. I sat by myself, enjoying the peacefulness of the morning, watching seagulls, surfers and waves crash along the shore. It wasn't long before a friend came down for a swim and asked me to join him, absolutely! The water was refreshingly cool but not cold and the low tide had brought all the seaweed back out to the ocean, giving us clear water for our swimming enjoyment. I went swimming several times throughout the day, one swim had me staying in for an hour, having too much fun wave jumping to get out. Friends joined me later in the day, each as they managed to finally get to the beach, one after another expanding my spot creating a circle of friendship. I was delighted when our group was ten strong and filled with stories and laughter. The club had live music playing so we were treated to a pianist singing for the afternoon...spoiled I know.  At the end of the day I watched as one by one each of my friends packed up to leave, me still sitting in the sand, refusing to call it a day. Tim and I sat alone at the end of the day, watching the sunset and holding hands like newlyweds, claiming last on the sand.  I hate to leave the beach on Sunday, once I do I know the weekend is over....boo. All good things must come to an end, so I finally packed it up, came home to throw all my wet towels in the wash and shower off all the salt from my body. Climbing into bed with my fresh cool sheets after a day in the sunshine felt almost as good as having my toes in the sand. Always sorry to see the weekend come to a close but thankful for a perfect 10 of a day...it doesn't happen often and was a day to remember!
