Day 743 Happily Ever After

The very spot we said our I do's, worth revisiting on the eve of our anniversary. This photo was taken two years ago, as we went back to feel the magic one more time. Tim and I dated for eleven years before making things official, when you're older there's no need to rush. We both had been married before, had children, established lives and may have been a bit gun shy to the process. Not exactly sure what changed, but there we were, holding hands, vowing to love, honor and cherish each other until death do us part....go figure! We're coming up on our third wedding anniversary and fortunately, we couldn't be happier with our decision. Marriage is very different than dating, even if you've lived together for years, it just is. As much as we loved each other, there's a  deeper commitment to one another as well as a peacefulness and comfort that comes with the bonds of marriage. How nice is it to have someone in your corner that will love you no matter what? Everyone has shortcomings, idiosyncrasies and a few annoying habits but hopefully the person you marry has more qualities on the plus side to outweigh all that. If you're lucky you find someone with an extinguisher for all life's dumpster fires, not a match. Most nights Tim and I are a boring old couple, sitting in our kitchen, chatting about the days happenings, happy as clams. We council one another on life's challenges, support each other and at times, give each other a kick in the right direction. We don't always agree, have completely different taste in music, food, plans for nights out but that just add a bit of fun, and keeps us on our toes.  Sadly, we're both kinda messy, hate doing yard work and neither of us wants to put away laundry...ugh! We may need to revisit our vows, sickness, health, piles of laundry, yard work and anything else that comes our way. Coming up on our third anniversary this week, no gifts needed, we seem to already have it all and thankfully, are smart enough to know it. We're looking forward to the rest of our Happily Ever After.
