Day 776 If you can't beat it / Decorate for it

There's no denying Autumn is coming, so, if you can't beat it, decorate for it. With no plans for the day and both Tim and I feeling less than fabulous, it was a perfect opportunity to pull out a few fall decorations and embrace the upcoming season. I'm not a pumpkin spice gal but I am one for making the most out of everything so here we go! It was also a time for cleaning, with no cleaning lady coming twice a month now, it's all on Tim and I to do it, ugh. The pre-clean/pick up prior to each visit, may have to still happen to keep us on track. We scurried around the house throughout the morning, feeling as if we were making progress but by the early afternoon, all ambition was lost and we both succumbed to laziness. In our defense, neither of us were feeling fantastic so lounging about wasn't a bad idea. Tim has had troubles three out of the past four weekends, thankfully he'll be seeing his surgeon soon to make sure things are still working well. We're wondering if there's a crinkle, twist or maybe scar tissue happening at his surgical site? Without going into details, it's tough when he has troubles, the pain is extreme and the episodes seem to last about 14 hours. We camped out in the basement family room, sleeping together on the pull out couches small double bed. It was easy to recall why we shifted to a king size bed, as I struggled for covers and space, ending up diagonally with my feet desperate for covers. Thankfully, we still have a day of weekend rest and for Tim, recovery. I'll be pulling out more fall decor, maybe even unpack the small suitcase from my trip to Maine and repack it for Florida. Looking back at summer 2024 with gratitude for amazing friends, hot summer nights filled with live music, family, cookouts, lawn games, dinner gatherings, big waves, beach walks, bare feet and sun kissed skin...what's not to love? Fall sure does have a lot to compete with, summer is a tough act to follow!
