Day 813 High Hopes
A visit from Erica got me out of bed, for at least a couple hours. I almost even took a shower and brushed my hair....almost. After a great visit with Erica I was back to bed for the rest of the day, wondering how I could still be so tired after being in bed for days?? Fortunately, Erica enjoyed hanging out being lazy with me, just chatting and reminiscing about old times. We laughed at all the current Hollywood folks that got their starts on our 1980's soap operas. I haven't watched soaps since then, but oh boy were they great back in the day. Some things are strangely imbedded in our memories and apparently we don't get to decide what stays! Missy came over after her meeting, all dressed up, hair brushed, looking like a million dollars, a beautiful glimpse of the real world. As soon as they left, it was back to bed for me. I slept for hours and once I woke up I quickly determined I wouldn't be getting out of bed again....maybe tomorrow. When Tim arrived home he scurried around, tending to the chickens, collecting eggs, reporting his accomplishments to me proudly. He was eager to watch the latest episode of a program we're watching and for a moment thought I'd come downstairs to watch it with him, silly man. He soon realized I wasn't moving and joined me upstairs to watch our program. We both laughed at the state of our bedding, short sheeted and disheveled but I wasn't moving long enough to work a fix...looks like that's a job for tomorrow as well. I have high hopes for tomorrow, shower, brush my hair, put on makeup, get dressed, go to work...I'm exhausted just thinking about it! Maybe I'll even get out for a walk with Missy and Erica, before my muscles start to atrophy. My daughter often tells me I'm foolishly optimistic, maybe it's true but I just know feeling better is right around the corner. Erica's visit was like a shot of vitamins for my soul, just what was needed after days of rest.
