Day 823 Broquette
At the end of the day, looking a bit frazzled but still showing off my fancy vintage tapestry blazer... although when I referred to it as broquette, Tim looked at me as if I were making up words. After googling a photo of my jacket I could only find a similar one listed as jacquard fabric. So here goes; Broquette is a type of jacquard fabric, woven with raised, embossed designs that have a three demential effect. I knew I wasn't making up words! I'm not sure I've said that word in twenty five years, but apparently it still held brain space in my head. I picked up this cute jacket last week, thrifting of course. Some little old lady must have cleaned out her closet, donating the vintage jacket that once must have been quite pricey. I paid less than $5 for the jacket and couldn't be happier with my purchase. I felt like a hipster in my jeans and t-shirt with my smart jacket to jazz up my outfit and received more compliments throughout the day than I ever imagined... it made everyone do a double take at the very least. The silk broquette fabric, is filled with light pinks and blues popping out as if asking to be touched. Jacket on, hipster, jacket off, casual as could be...loved it. I'm sure Tim still wonders if I made up that word, he's one of the smartest guys I know but he and I have very different basic knowledge...yin and yang thing strikes again. No matter what we call my new jacket, I love it. Jackets up your style so much more than a sweater, while giving you all the warmth and comfort..it's a win win. Over the years, I've gathered a fairly big collection of the tiny coats, in every color, for every season...I should stop shopping for them, but what the heck! This new purchase looked great, fit perfectly and introduced a new word into my husband vocabulary...all that for less than $5. I bet he'll be dropping his new vocabulary word soon, keeping his eye out for the fancy fabric just to use it...bring on more broqette.
