Day 825 Color me thankful
What to wear for Friendsgiving at the beach club...why not a little Yam humor? Fortunately for me, Tim is a good sport, so when I told him I had a shirt for him to wear, there was only a moment of dread before he willingly went along with my plans. He often asks, "why" and the reply is always, "why not", after all, if you have a chance to bring a slice of fun to a day, why wouldn't you? T-shirts in November? Even the weather cooperated with my plan thanks to Mother Nature, who brought us brilliant sunshine and warm temps. We sat outside for most of the afternoon, soaking in as much vitamin D as our bodies could absorb, while sitting and chatting with friends. The Thanksgiving feast was delicious, everyone bringing their best dish to share with the masses and several turkey's were carved and quickly devoured. There's always great inspiration for a new recipe when looking at the large array of food and treats. I brought my pomegranate dip, my go to for this time of year...delicious and so pretty with the bright red seeds. The large group of about fifty friends sat, enjoying a delicious meal with all the doors open and the fresh ocean breeze rolling in. One Friendsgiving down, another one next week with another group of friends, scheduled at my house. Curious how much turkey will be consumed leading up to the big day? Tim and I still haven't pinpointed what we want to do for the holiday, so far we're just loving having all of our options open. I have to admit, I'm eager to have the fall holiday behind us, anxious to start decorating for Christmas!! I have planned a holiday cocktail party, excited to have my house filled with friends, mingling amidst the holiday lights and festive decor. I'll be hosting family parties as well, but this gathering is planned for celebrating friendships. Until then, I'll be upping my autumn decor, prepping for November entertaining but once Thanksgiving is over I'll be in my happy place, Christmas music on throughout every waking moment and decking the halls with good cheer. I've got a beautiful skirt laid out, ready for a party and fortunately for Tim, I have no plans for his outfit. He knows I enjoy entertaining... in every way. Our silly yam humor was a hit at Friendsgiving, giving everyone a smile and a chuckle... As I told Tim, "it's our job to entertain the people". If you've got a good eye, you may also notice my fabulous Gucci belt, adding a little fabulous to my yam humor. Color me thankful.
