Day 831 Turkey & cupcakes

Another Friendsgiving, just for the girls. In all fairness, the guys were invited but all had other things going on. I thought for sure Tim would enjoy the spotlight of being the only guy in the mix but once he heard he'd be sandwiched in with me and my friends, he quickly called a friend and went out for a beer. Each of my friends arrived, bringing wine, sweets, side dishes and more stories than we could pack into a Friday night. These gals always make me laugh and have now been good friends of mine for close to twenty years. Our Friendsgivings in the past have been dominated by packs of kids... where did the time go? Kids have grown up and are all off on their own, except for a few but there was school dances and sports to keep them busy while we had our visit. I had cooked a giant turkey, unsure how many people would be coming, so it looks like turkey is on the menu for the next couple of days. With more company planned..Tim and I hosting back to back guests, I'll try to find a good recipe for leftover turkey. I've got a few more evenings planned in November, then I'll finally be able to take down the fall decor and deck my halls. My girlfriends and I all synced our calendars for important upcoming dates and added another dinner date to the mix for the heck of it. It's strange how some people are drawn together like magnets. These gals and I aren't the same ages, all have different interests but somehow we all groove together in unison as if the six of us were born to be friends. I tease them that they are my B friends, but they are clearly another one of my A teams! There have been times we laugh together, cried together but no matter what happens in any of our lives, our friendship and support for each other is solid and steadfast. If November is a month to count your blessings, I'll be thanking my lucky stars that the universe brought these gals into my world. Now.... what to make with twenty pounds of leftover turkey?
