Day 855 Girl Gang
Monday mornings come at us too quickly, how on earth do the weekends go by so fast?? Thankfully, I had plans with my girlfriends for dinner, giving me something to look forward to all day. We settled in at "our table" and one by one my friends arrived, all as eager and exited to see each other. Nicole brought us each matching necklaces, with pretty bows on them and we all immediately put them on. Cathy arrived with Life saver books for each of us, because it's not Christmas without one! Life saver books use to be a staple on Christmas morning, the story book of each candy flavors would then be devoured within the day. Apparently life saver is trimming down, only one side of the book now has candy in it but the sentiment was still appreciated. With each of us carrying on with our busy lives, I'm so glad my girl gang still etches out time to get together as often as we do. Last year Nicole gave us each identical bracelets and we all vowed to never take them off, mine is still on and makes me smile every time I look at it. I don't suppose I'll be able to wear the same necklace every day, but I'll be sure to keep it in a special spot and wear it whenever I'm with my crew. My friends were all excited to tell me what they are planning to wear to my party, knowing how much I appreciate them getting fancy. Megan might even put on her fanciest sneakers for the night... and they will be perfect. The six of us sat, chatting the night away, telling stories and catching up as if we hadn't seen each other in ages. Of course, we were all just together two weeks ago but lots has happened since then! We're all excited for Bethany's wedding in New Hampshire, two years from now and plans are being made. We're thinking of renting an air bnb for all of us, laughing that Bethany will probably opt to stay elsewhere on her wedding night, Oh, the fun we will have! We put in our save the dates for upcoming events, Nicole's son will be turning 21 soon, he'll be thrilled to have all his moms friends attend, and of course, I'll be turning 60 this spring.... looks like there's no shortage of celebrations ahead. Having plans on the horizon helps to make it through the cold dark days of winter, but nothing beats a great group of friends... these gals are like summer sunshine to my soul.
