Day 872 Werewolf

Happy to report that our water was turned back on during the night. The sink and counter full of dirty dishes sat waiting for me, but the sound of running water was glorious. After getting my kitchen back in order I began scurrying around the house to gather up discarded wrapping paper and make small attempts to get the house straightened out. With my son and his girlfriend visiting through the weekend, there's really no point in cleaning until they leave but I at least have to try to maintain some level of sanity. They arrived tired and seem to find home in RI a perfect place to unwind, relax and get much needed rest, each of them napping off and on throughout the day. We only ventured out to catch Cash's basketball game, excited to watch him play and eager to show our support. Up to this point he's been all hockey and baseball, so we were impressed to see him score six points in a row and hold his own out on the court. I suppose his height helps, although there was another 8th grader that towered over our 5'11" Cash man....who's growing these boys?? Once back home, we all settled in for a night of game play, my grandsons eager to play their favorite, werewolf game. My daughter hates the game but begrudgingly agreed to play a couple rounds as the moderator. It has become a must play for my grandkids but it's one of those games you either love or hate so after two rounds and much complaining from Jess, we moved on to another game. Everyone is always skeptical of new games, no one wants to read the directions and somehow the learning curve seems daunting. Thankfully, we worked through all the obstacles and in the end we were happy we did. The new game was a hit with everyone, even Jess!! It had us each working with a new partner to act out words or phrases with either eyes closed, linked arms or one person using their arms for the other, silly fun. We've got several new games to try, maybe this game will be an inspiration to give another new one a try? Christmas continues here at home, family time, lazy days, games, great food and running water.....life is good.
