Day 873 Muskrat
I could get use to the lazy life of staying home, or have I already? I did manage to shower, get dressed and run a few errands so wasn't completely unproductive but was happy to play games and hang out relaxing for the better part of the day. It was a marathon game day, playing sequence, splendor and even teaching my son and his girlfriend Mahjong!! My son seemed to pick it up quickly, I dare say he even looked like he was enjoying it but his girlfriend didn't seem as thrilled with the complexity of the card. It's a fun game once you know how to play, but learning all the rules and intricacies of playing can be overwhelming. Tim was proud he had already learned and sat down for the first game with the confidence of a seasoned player, going on to win. My son and I managed to get a dose of fresh air by going for a long walk and although cold, the sunshine felt fantastic. I like to stop at the bridge to watch for ducks and to my delight we caught a muskrat swimming across right as we stopped to look. My son was the one to spot the little guy, he's always had a keen eye for spotting wildlife. If you look closely that muskrat made it into my photo, but you'll need a sharp eye to see him. We played a few more games in the evening before getting to bed fairly early, all of us that is except for Tim who went out to see a band. I knew he'd want to watch every set the band played and wouldn't leave until the bitter end, too late for me and not a band I had any interest in. I wanted to rest up for another day of hanging out at home and be ready for whatever my weekend brings...even if it's more lounging about and playing.
