As we creep up on a new year, I think back to all the amazingly great times that were had in 2024. Sure, there were tough times as well but somehow any obstacles fade with time and only happy memories come to mind. This is most likely due to my circle, who come to my aid without hesitation and who I can always count on, like a heard of female elephants. It is said that in the wild, female elephants are fierce protectors. If one is in distress, the others gather around her forming a tight circle of protection. If wounded they will even cover her in dirt and mud to hide her scent from predators. We all find ourselves in the middle of the circle at times, but as long as we have a circle of friends to protect us, it's not a terrible place to be. I found myself on the inside the circle a few times in 2024 but with the love and support of my circle, found strength and returned to the heard, unharmed. I also found myself on the outside of the circle, protecting friends and giving whatever support I could. I am a fiercely protective friend and one that takes great pride in my herd. Life will always throw troubles our way, conflicts and predators, so keep your circle tight and be brave enough to be on the perimeter and strong enough to endure being in the center. With a strong circle, I look forward to whatever 2025 brings, knowing I enter the year with the strength of many female elephants...my circle.
